How cold does it need to be to wear the heavyweight Merino wool base layer bottom?

This heavyweight base layer bottom is best suited to conditions at or below freezing, making it ideal for the coldest parts of fall and winter. For milder temperatures, a midweight or lightweight base layer bottom from Minus33 may be a better fit.

Can the Merino wool women's base layer bottom be worn underneath regular pants?

Yes. This base layer bottom is designed to be worn underneath your everyday outdoor pants, snow pants, or work pants for added warmth without unnecessary bulk. Many customers also wear it on its own during extremely cold outdoor activities for maximum insulation.

Does the heavyweight Merino wool base layer bottom pair with a matching top?

Yes. This base layer bottom is designed to complement the matching heavyweight Merino wool crew top, giving you a coordinated base layer system for the coldest days of the year.

What activities is the Minus33 Merino wool women's base layer bottom best suited for?

This base-layer bottom is well-suited for hiking, camping, biking, running, fishing, hunting, and snow sports. Its insulating heavyweight fabric performs well whether you are moving steadily through cold conditions or standing still for extended periods outdoors.

Is the heavyweight Merino wool base layer bottom true to size?

Yes. This base layer runs true to size. If you prefer a closer, more athletic fit, sizing down is recommended. Those who prefer extra room to layer underneath may want to size up.

Product Story

Kenai [kee-nie]

The Kenai Peninsula is located on the southern coast of Alaska, bordered on one side by Cook Inlet and the Alaska Ocean on the other. It’s often called the "Alaskan Playground" because of all the activities available in the area; for example, wildlife sightseeing, kayaking and canoeing, dog sledding, and fishing.
