100% organic hemp yoga mat, double-layer, reversible. Use on its own on non-slippery or carpeted floor or use on top of natural rubber yoga mats to protect your skin. Double sided: hemp knit/ hemp woven fabric. Made from start to finish at Rawganique Atelier. Sweatshop-free. Chemical-free. PVC-free. Machine washable.

100% Organic Hemp Yoga Surface Mat

The most eco-friendly non-toxic sustainable yoga mat in the world is arguably our Asana 100% organic hemp yoga mat, featuring two different sides to suit your needs.

Yoga + Hemp = Heavenly. We get an early start on the day with an hour of yoga by the fireplace. We love doing yoga on bare floors - with our Asana 100% Organic European Hemp Yoga Mat (the purest yoga mat there is) on top of our PVC-free natural rubber yoga mat to give traction on the smooth floor.

We find that practicing yoga directly on the sticky mat is uncomfortable (and in the case of natural rubber mats, a little stinky), so we always have our hemp yoga mat on top of the natural rubber yoga mats or, if the floor underneath is not too hard, just the hemp yoga rug by itself. Our unique double-sided hemp yoga mat (one side hemp ribbed knit for some friction and the other side smooth woven hemp) can be folded to cushion the butt for sitting poses and the knees on kneeling poses. We also fold up the hemp yoga mat for sitting meditation. Our hemp yoga mat, of course, is great as a hemp prayer mat as well. Many customers even use the hemp yoga mat as a yoga blanket and wrap when the air gets a little chilly.

Since we started making the first version of hemp yoga mat in 1997, many customers have practiced pure yoga on our hemp yoga mat. Here's what a customer wrote about the Asana 100% Organic Hemp Yoga Mat: "I LOVE mine - I use it daily to cover myself during meditation and often use it in place of a blanket or throw when I get a chill - even take it to the park instead of a blanket!!! It's my favourite mat ever!!!!! 🙌🏽"

100% organically grown European hemp yoga mat. One side 100% hemp ribbed knit; one side smooth 100% woven hemp fabric.

Great as a topper for our natural rubber yoga mats. Many customers, wanting absolute purity, use this hemp yoga mat as a standalone-yoga mat (on floors that offer some friction, like rugs or carpets — or they use the hemp yoga mat for kneeling and lying down poses: when they need grip for inverted poses, they just put their pants and feet on the wooden floor). Please note that for hard floors such as marble or concrete, the hemp yoga mat alone is not recommended, as more cushioning will be beneficial.

PVC-free, pesticide-free, GMO-free, dioxin-free, formaldehyde-free super natural yoga mat.

Natural (unbleached & undyed), Oregano (natural dye) - natural woven, oregano knit, or Oak (natural dye) - oak or natural woven, oak knit.

The Asana Hemp Yoga Mat is washable: machine wash separate in warm water (mild biodegradable detergent, delicate cycle). Hang to dry (or tumble dry on low/air cycle); remove promptly. Steam iron at linen setting. Hemp fiber doesn't like high dry heat.

Our plant-based eco-friendly vegan plastic-free, PVC-free 100% organic hemp yoga mat is made in Europe at the Rawganique Atelier. Sweatshop-free. Chemical-free.

More info
The purest yoga mat on earth, bar none! No suspect ingredients from places with spotty and unreliable organic practices and questionable labor standards.

We love hemp, if you can't already tell. Rawganique.com was inspired by the late Jack Herer (hemptivist and author of the eye-opening hemp bible 'The Emperor Wears No Clothes"), who believed that hemp was a 'free' plant, a democratic plant that refuses to be confined by politics. For thousands of years, hemp has resisted corporations' attempts to "own" it, to commercialize it, patent it, trademark it. Instead, it has spread throughout the world, to every culture and every land, pretty much unscathed, in its strong original form. That's why we love hemp and are happy to see hemp products proliferating into the hands of end users who will benefit from its wonderous properties. The world will be a better place, too, for hemp is easily grown without pesticides (except in some countries that still use chemical defoliants, pesticided in-between crops, and acid & chemical fiber processing).

As devout yogis ourselves, we are excited to introduce the ninth reincarnation of our organic hemp yoga mats. We make hemp not to own hemp, but to spread hemp. Pick up a copy of "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" and read it sometime. You may be able to find a multimedia CD-ROM version of it if you can't find it in a library or bookstore.

We have been manufacturing hemp products for more than 26 years. Now with over 1,000 pure organic products under our belt, we are revisiting some of the earlier versions of hemp yoga mats we've made over the years. With the recently developed 100% organic European hemp knit, we now have the perfect backing for our all-hemp yoga mat that our discerning customers have come to rely on for pure, VOC-free practice.

26 years of compiling customer feedback and wishlists have resulted in our Ultimate Hemp Yoga Mat: 100% organic hemp yoga mat: vegan, PVC-free, rubber-free, and sweatshop-free. From organic European hemp. We're sewing right now! One side is 100% organically grown European hemp knit (a Rawganique exclusive: the world's first and only); on the other side is 100% organically grown hemp linen fabric. Integral tie string. The knit side is cushy and the hemp linen side is smooth.

Care: Machine wash at gentle cycle, using mild biodegradable detergent. Hang or lay flat to dry. If you must, tumble dry on low/gentle cycle; remove before dry. Can be ironed at the highest linen setting.
